An environmental engineer from Genoa and the family passion for wine: it's the story of Marco Cremonini, who in 2009 founded “La Cedraia”, on the hills of Novi Ligure, planting one hectare and a half of Cortese vine for the production of Gavi Docg, on a happy exposure behind the house, entirely south.

«I also used in the vineyard my professional competence on environmental engineering», he says.

So, La Cedraia has been certified as “sustainable wine” producer, through the Viva Program by Italian Ministry of Environment, also presented at the Expo 2015 in Milan.

The farm produces a special Gavi, hitting for harmony, depth and richness of notes: a potential of 12,000 bottles per year, including the bubbles and a “Monferrato Rosso” made up of Dolcetto, Merlot and Cabernet.

«We’re small, but we are growing», says Giampiero Cabiddu, head of the vineyards.

«I certainly do not lack passion», ensures Loredana Gallino, the young “lady” of the cellar with the winemaker Umberto Lucarno.

«La Cedraia always worth a visit», adds Marco Cremonini, who recovered the historic building with raw earth, at the center of a park shaded by cedars. «We believe in this territory: its landscapes are no different than those of Chianti».

This is confirmed by many wine tourists who visit the house, weekly: Belgian, Dutch and even Chinese.
